The Academy’s 2026–2027 BCSC brings together clinical updates from more than 100 subspecialty expert ophthalmologists. The sections feature clinical knowledge, interactive activities, concise videos, tables, photographs, illustrations and self-assessment questions with answers.

The Academy and the European Board of Ophthalmology have partnered since 2013–2014 on the BCSC as a standard resource for European ophthalmology training. The EBO recommends it for candidates studying for the annual EBO Diploma Exam.

The American Academy of Ophthalmology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
