This autobiography of celebrated Bharatanatyam dancer Geeta Chandran, enriched with a vast collection of visual images, depicts her journeys from being a student to artist-dancer, from performer to a teacher, from mathematics to rasa, from the voice of herself to the songs of Krishna. Also, it weaves together the stray impressions encountered in these journeys through dance.
Providing insight into her sacred relationship with her Gurus, it discusses at length the traditional path of Bharatanatyam its expanding frontiers and changing prisms. An elaborate discussion on how the dance is viewed, the mythological content of dance narrative and its gender dimensions makes part of the book as well.
